Notes up the Cariboo Road
The sluice box at the Van Winkle
mine turned up a nugget in peculiar
form somo days ago. It was in the
shape of a sovereign made tn Her
Majesty's mint, London, m 1852. It
was black and discolored and had
evidently been partially buried in the
earth for years. It waB probably lost
by some miner in the oarly days, has
the distinction as gold of having
been twice mined, and is a peculiar
example of the aocidontal here
