An arrangement has been made whereby the whole of the properties in whieh Messrs. Dier, Davidson and Itiis- sel of Fairview are interested, will be consolidated into one coinpaiiy. Readers of the Boundary Oreek Times will recognize the fact lhat Mr. Duncan Ross is at liis post again, He is to be congratulated upon his victory over myriads of typhoid germs. The surveyors of the Vancouver, Victoria and Eastern railway are al present locating ihe line through the town, and as soon as Ihis is accomplished lhey will continue Ihe survey up Boundary Oreek, Captain Lamb, of Hove,. Sussex, England, who has properly here, aud has on too former occasions visited Midway, will again pay a visit to the lown in a few days, lie being at present in Victoria on his way here. The banking institutions of the country are turning themselves loose with a vengeance, for it is said the Bank nf Montreal will al once open a branch eilher at Midway or Greenwood, but probably at Ihe latter point. Anew publication liy Ihe name of Ihe Cascade City Record will make its appearance in a few days. The parlies responsible for its production will be Messrs. P. J. Heilly and W. Wilcox formerly of Nelson and Brooklyn respectively. Mr. A. G. Fuller and Mr. W. 11. Lawrence, of Vernon, were visitors in lown dining lhe past week, having come down to take a view of the country, and leirn for themselves upon what a solid Inundation business investments are made intliisB'fil m. Mrs. Lundy's many friends will he sorry to hear of tier very severe sickness. For tlle pust week or more she has been confined lo bed, und her condition is critical. Owing tothe illness of Dr. Jukes her attendant physician is Dr. Westwood of Grand Forks. Provincial Constable Gardoni left here during the past week having iu charge two or ihree prisoners hound forthe gaol at Kamloops, One was the Italian who was recently sentenced to tire months' imprisonment for shoot' ing at some stret-et laborers at Greenwood wilh a revolver. Among lhe distinguished visitors to Midwny on Thursday and Friday last Were a number of gentleman connected with Canadian banking institutions, Messrs. Coulson and Bairett of the Bank of Toronto came in on Thursday and Mr. W. H. Morris, manager of the branch of the Canadian Bank nf Commerce al. Vancouver and Mr. W. Godfrey manager of the branch of ihe Bunk of British North America, at Vancouver, on Friday. With the utmost grace the numerous bachelors and others of Midway are asked to delve dowii into their money bags, and produce the wheie-wilh-all lo gladden the little ones at Christinas. Mrs. W. G, McMynn und Miss Nellie Bonne are soliciting siibscriplioii'i to the Christmas tree, nud it is certain no one will, or will lie allowed lo evade Ihem. Tlie object is a worthy one, and the citizens of Midway have always given a'generous patronage lo this yearly entertainment, Mr. Chas. Gire, E. M., erstwhile manager of the St. Maurice Mining Society, whicli owns properties iu Central camp, will start in a few days for France, and arriving lliere will then proceed lo Constantinople, in Turkey. Should active hostilities break out between France aud England, Mr. Gire may be pressed into the naval service of his country, bul, if not he expects to return to Boundary Creek in about three months, and—well il is said, not alone. With the advent of railway building a very undesirable class of people are finding their wuy inUi Ihis section, for recenl ly several casesof house-breaking have been reported. To add lo Ibis number, some one lust evening broke into the saloon at the Lancashire hotel, this town, and rifled lhe till of ils money contents. Tlie suloon building adjoins the hotel, and this of course accounts for lhe fact that the housebreakers were not, heard and molested, Au exchange says that some 150 four and six horse teams are now engaged freighting goods from Marcus aud Bossborg to Boundary Creek und Reservation points and that even with this number engaged, lhe freight is piling up on the lailway. These goods come principally from eastern Can adiaii points, and yet Ihere are|sonin who declare that lhe Corbin charter is not a necessity. A Visit from our Member. Mr. James Marlin, M. P. P., was a visitor in Midway on Friday last, Mr, Martin came iu by way of.CuscadeCily and Grand Forks, and il is needless lo say his Inisiuess here was in aoiniecliun wiih ihe interests of liis constituents, Not only will the claims of the people of Midway receive attention, those of the whole disirici will lie carefully looked after, and forcibly brought to the attenlion of the governuieut. To an ADVANCE representative, Mr. Marlin said he was desirous of having lhe people of each locality form a committee, whose duty it should be to draw up and present lo him a list of necessary public works required in Iheir Immediate vicinity, bo that in this way he could.lie systematically be made acquainted with lhe needs of his large constituency. He furllier stated lhat he would lose no] opportunity of furthering the inleresls of his constituents with regard to railway mutters und also representation, two (pies, tions'which could hardly jhe given too much attention, Asked us to whether lhe Semlin parly would have {a work- nig majority in the forthcoming sitl ing of the Provincial legislnl ure, Mr.Martln Innghedjand answered, certainly, why not? Banking Institutions. A few days ago Boundary Creek was without a chartered banking institution, hut lo*day twosuch'itislilu- tiinis are doing liusiness in Ihis neighborhood, the Bunk of British Norlli America and lhe Oandinn Bank of Commerce, hnving on Weduesday last opened branches at, Greerwood. That these two powerful corporations have selected Greenwood in which'to open in business gives a great and deserved pri'stitge In that town, tint that the Ituuetit of having these institutions there will lie shared alike by all the residents of Bounilniy Creek us well as *.lu*se of Greenwood will nof he questioned. Apart from the great convenience in the transaction of business, thi advertisement given to Boundary Oreek through having these luniks established in one nf ils liusiness eenl res is not lobe thought lightly of. Fnr and near lhe news will he heralded thai Boundary Creek has been thought worthy of the attention of such shrewd and successful business men as are to be found directing the ulfairs of tin* chartered banks of Canada, and this in itself will be sufficient to give confidence and otter great Inducements to the large world of men who are always on the alert and ready to select a favorable Held for investment. Boundary Creek has its banks, and will soon have ils railway. Given another railway, and Ihen local smelling facilities, and ye godsl what a hive of industry will the Boundary Creek district present. On the same property is a larger vein (quartz) carrying galena and pyrites, The " G. A. The finest picccsof wircsil* vet'found onBoundaryOreek were taken from Ihis shaft. On the "Big Ledge" is a 10-foot nuiirlz vein, mineralized with inm pyrites. This vein has lieen opened up hy cross-cut son the surface fn* 600 feet. A narrower vein has heiiii opened up, lieing one foot wide, carrying considerahle copper pyrile., and runs inlo lhe main ledge as a spur, on which a tunnel of 40 feel hns heen driven. The second vein has at present a width of nearly three feet. Assays have shown values in gold from $4.1X1 lo $170.53, while a conservative snmpl- ing hy Mr. S. S. Fowler, M. E. gave $20.00 in gold. On Ihe "ti. II. B." are two converging veins of copper and iron pyrites, on which work is now heing done. An average assay gave, gold $1.50, silver 10J "ozs., copper 11,00 per cent., or $40,44 for all values. The "Fred ti."was located in De ceuilier," 1S05, more us ground for a Imsis for mining operations for the other claims than for its presenl value, although there is little douhl that the large vein on the O.
