Bears and Man

Description

The International Conference on Wild Bears is held this year in Victoria. Scientists from around the world discuss trade in bear parts, bear habitat and human/bear interface problems. There is a location film insert of bear studies in the Flathead River. A grizzly researcher says he believes that hunting levels on grizzlies are so tightly regulated as to pose no threat to survival of the species. The Wildlife Branch in Victoria says neither black nor grizzly bears are endangered in B.C.
