Westland

Clearcut Logging and the Environment

Description

Another WestLand public conference. About 200 delegates filled this conference hall in Penticton. They came from all parts of B.C. and even from Alberta. It is apparent that much of the discussion regarding clearcuts is polarized sharply between logging and anti-logging or non-logging interests. The one point on which there seemed to be complete agreement is that some of the older clearcuts were far too large and were made without proper consideration for other resource values.
