A DIRECTOR'S NOTIONS
An Alarm. The Alarum bell. Take heed or "it" will pass by, consuming all.
Apocalypse. Revelation. Alpha and Omega... And the fifth angel sounded and to him
was given the key of the bottomless pit... and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as
the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the
smoke of the pit ... Reagan loses "N-card" - commander-in-chief's key to trigger a
nuclear war ... France explodes two nuclear weapons ... Regime in Warsaw launches
attack on Jews (Headlines, December 1981). Alarum ... District of Abbotsford Fire
Hall burned to the ground while the Volunteer Fire Department danced the night
away at a Fireman's Ball - to raise money for a new fire hall ... Arson is North
America's most expensive crime... and the band played on. The stock market crashed
and they sat on flag poles and danced for days for money ... Hitler burned Jews and
the allies bombed Hiroshima and the big bands played on and O how they danced ...
Viet Nam, Johnson and Nixon and Reagan and always Russia and hippies and sex
and drugs and Rock and Roll... Disco and O how they danced! Alarum... I don't want
to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart ...
