LEON POWNALL - Artist in Residence
Mr. Pownall is well known to audiences across Canada as director and actor. He has
performed, written and produced for radio, television and film. Frederic Wood Theatre
audiences will remember his performances in No Man's Land, Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern are Dead, The Rivals and King Lear as well as his unique directorial
treatment of The Firebugs. The recent and critically acclaimed work Dylan Bach was
written and performed by Leon. Dylan Bach is a loving look at the famous poet Dylan
Thomas. Mr. Pownall delighted theatre goers as the mischievous Uncle Edgar in Gordon Pinsent's A Gift to Last at The Playhouse during the holiday season.
