Description

This film footage includes the unloading and installation of sculptures including David Marshall's "Man and Child" [:045-1:05] and Jack Harman's "Man with Net" [1:06-1:54] and the ceremony to open the exhibit [1:55-2:35]. Clips also include Governor General Vince Massey’s visit to UBC and his tour of the sculptures [3:07-4:18] and Robert Clothier with his award winning sculpture “Three Forms” speaking with Herbert Read, Alexander Archipenko and Norman Mackenzie [4:19-4:48]. Footage ends with shots of individual sculptures including Clothier’s “Three Forms” [4:49-5:14], Jan Zach’s “Christ” [5:15-5:42], Frank Perry’s “Seated Figure” [5:58-6:12], Robert Clothier’s “Reclining Figure” [6:13-6:32] and David Marshall’s “Man with a Broken Arm” [6:34-7:08].
