Dissolved and Particulate PBDE Concentrations in the Strait of Georgia, Juan de Fuca Strait, Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River (2013-2018) Sun, Yuanji; Francois, Roger; Maldonado, Maria
Description
Fifty-five filtered seawater and twenty-one suspended particles samples were collected in the Strait of Georgia and surrounding areas on multiple research cruises between 2013 and 2018. The samples were processed within 48 hrs after collection and sent to SGS AXYS Analytical Services Ltd. (Sidney, B.C., Canada) to measure PBDEs. The dataset includes the dissolved and particulate concentration (pg/kg and pg/L, respectively) of 40 PBDE congeners in each sample, the weight of water (kg) from which dissolved PBDEs were extracted or the volume of water (L) filtered to collect the suspended particles, and mass of congeners in the analytical and procedural blanks. The limits of detection and quantification were determined from the standard deviations of the analytical blanks (3 and 10 standard deviations, respectively). The reported congener concentrations have been blank-corrected. The mass of congeners found to be below their limit of detection or quantification are reported as ranges (0 - LoD, or LoD - LoQ, respectively).
