Supplemental data to: ChatGPT for mental health support: a cross-sectional survey of university students in Canada Daswani, Rishika; Koo, Andrea Wong; Sanghera, Agam

Description

Mental health challenges are a growing concern among university students, yet they continue to encounter barriers to traditional care, including stigma, cost, and limited availability. As artificial intelligence (AI) integrates into daily life, tools such as ChatGPT are increasingly used for emotional support, psychotherapy, and coping strategies. This cross-sectional survey was conducted among students at the University of British Columbia, to understand how university students perceive ChatGPT and other AI platforms as tools for mental health support.
