Annual meeting of the Winfleld & Okanagan Centre Irrigation District-. .
held in the Winfleld Hall on Wednesday* May 28* 194jj^0f<rg^p5^      ^_^^_—-
There were 57 users present*
J* E. Seaton was elected Chairman* and 8* J. Land Secretary*
the minutes of the last Annual Meeting were read , & it one .
MOVED by W*C*BRODIE
SECONDED by E.C.NUXENS .« That the minutes of the Annual Meeting held
en May 15, 1946 be adopted*
CARRIED
ARISING FROM MINUTES*   Mr* A.Smith suggested that the Sec* should have n
map showing the new pipe that the District wee financing*   This was agreed
to* and the See* wee instructed to obtain same from the Irrigation Co*
THE AUDITORS REPCBT & FINANCIAL STATEMENT was reed through*
Mr* Van Aokeren asked why no depreciation had been allowed on Beaver Lake
Dam*   She Chairman said that the Auditor had not thought It necessary but
that It would be done in future if the meeting so wished* It wis agreed to
do this* j ,"\
Mr* C* Draper asked what had been done about repaying the Conservation
Fund loan*   The Chairman explained that the Govt* having accepted the Deem
Clement report the District's annual payment was set at $200*00 and that
this had been paid for 1947*

the Financial Statement be adopted*

Considerable discussion took place on this subject*
Mr* M. McCarthy said that some of the "Flat" users were not geeting their
proper amount of water* ."■ 11
Mr* Tan Acheron said that in his opinion the flume should bo renewed* It
had originally been built for conservation purposes & the need for It was
just ee great to*day*
Mr. A. Smith agreed with thin* ' j^,.
Both the Chairman & MP« Goldie explained to the meeting that it would be
much better business all around if the "Flat" users would take ever and
maintain the flume themselves, or pay a rate mere in line with present
conditions*   They considered that *50^ an acre was not an adequate amount*

SECONDED by S* EDWARDS :- That Mr* If* MsCarthy organize a committee from
k„. the "Flat" to meet the Trustees to discuss the
future of the Duck Lake Flume*
CARRIED
Mr. McCarthy agreed to do this*
Mr. Goldie suggested that it would be a good thing if the "flat11 could farm
their own Improvement District* m
OTHER BUSINESS
The Chairman asked the users to endeavour to pay their taxes
by cheque*   At present far too much actual cash was involved*
He also asked that all users forming subdivisions forward a copy of the map
to the Secretary to facilitate the making up the annual Assessment Roll*
Mr. A. Smith said tint he was a little doubtful that ho was getting his
fair share of water, and asked for a set of figures showing the amount of
water flowing *nr a 12* weir at different heads*
The Chairman said that he would see that this was done*
Mr. G. Griffith asked if the District tax would be lowered this year
The Chairman replied that tto Trustees had thought the $2*00 rake o good
thing as it would help build up a reserve that would probably be needed
one day towards purchasing the system*

Mr. S. Edwards asked about the condition of Crooked Lake spillway*
The Chairman said that it hod been temporarily repaired hot would have to
be properly fixed one day, but that in hie opinion there woe no danger*
Mr. Ton Ackeren reported that on May 26th. 1947 Beaver Lake stood at

ELECTION OF TWO TRUSTEES*
The following were nominate! t-  Mr.T*Duggan,
2&* S* Edwards, & Mr. F. Williams.
Nominations ware- then closed*
Mr. E.C.Nuyens, and Mr* A* Arnold were appointed scutineere and ae a result of the ballot Mr. Edwards & MP* Williams were declared elected*

for the year ending Mar* 15, 1948*
