Minutes of meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Winfield
and Okanagan Centre Irrigation Districts;* held at Wirf ield,
Thursday evening, AugUBt 27th 1981.
Present §j trustees Beaton, McDonald, Head, Gray and Goldie
and the Secretary,
The Minutes of the meeting s of August 14th and of August 17th
were read, and it wae
Moved by Mr, Gray?:
Seconded by Mr, Bead*  That these minutes be adopted.
The Secretary submitted letter from Mr, H.   A. Howard,  of ttoe
Trusts and Guarantee Company,   in regard to further negotAAtions
leading to the acquisition of the    pipe system by the District.
After considerable discussion it was decided to defer answering
this letter until fufcther^biforaation is available.
In reply  to an enquiry  by  telephone Mr,   de Wolf  suggested that
negotiations    leading to acquisition of  system would probably
be by engineer*s report  to District,  Company's engineer's report,
both those being submitted to independent Engineer,   and  the result
of  this being submitted to government for approval;    he strongly
urges proceeding with Crooked Lake Scheme,  which he considers
* cheapest storage in the Valley",.
Mr*  Cameron advised Board by telephone that plans and specificatiori
would go forward to deWolfe,  Friday9   and tenders have been called
for to be in by August 31st.    Do Wolf ha    ving undo* taken to
forward plans to the Comptroller*
The Secretary submitted bill from Mr* F. W. Groves for services
re pumping scheme. The Trustees ordered this account tabled.
The Assessment Roll for 1931 as prepared by the Assessor,
E. C. Mails, was submitted, and it was
moved by Mr. McDonald,
Seconded by Mr. Bead,  That the assessment roll be approved, and
the Assessor instructed to send oOt
assessment notices.
It was moved by Mr.  Head,
Seconded by Mr, McDonald,  That Messrs. Seaton, army and Goldie
be appointed the court of Revision
to hear complaints against the
assessment roll, and tiat the date
of the meeting of the Court of
RBevislon* be Monday, November Snd.
The secretary was instructed to write Bon.  J.  W.  Jones In regard
to the new plans being forwarded tc  the Comptroller,  and to aric
him assistance in facilitating the financing of  the Orooke   d Lake
The Meeting then adjourned.
