James Goldie, Esq.,
Rainbow Ranche*
Okanagan Centre, ¥#C.
Dear Br* Goldie:
^j- Your letter of October 19th has been received and
youfyletter of May 22nd was replied to by my letter of June 7thf as per copy
enclosed, which was profcably destroyed in the fire you had in your office.
I met the local Dominion Income Tax Inspector last
week and he asked me whither we had arranged matters so that the refund could
be proceeded with on the plan he proposed and about which I have written to
yocuft,iefly*^->4t was that anything we repaid Rainbow Ranche during the succeeding
12 months from about June 1st last would not be taxable and a refund of the Tax
charged and paid on shareholders advances would be made* I thought I should
have heard from you in regard to this as it was a most friendly act by the
Inspector to us and I would like to know now Vhihfcer you have any plan for
carrying this out*
The amount involved is #22,360.00 of which the Tax
on one half, namely $511.00 was paid \>y me*
I note your description of the operations during the
year which is just closing and would be most interested to get a report from
you as soon as you have definite information enough to prepare this thiag, giving
the possible ropasfrc for the year*

^Y Things here are just about the same, things do not
improve and we are starting on the worst winter that any of us has ever seen.
ly son Donald has at last started to show definite
signs of improvement and is getting up a little each day. We must strain everything to try and get him into the sunshine for the next three or four months,
which means Florida, "but he will have to wear a steel brace to support his back
for some years to come.
Hoping all is well with you, I remain,
Yours very truly,
