Dear Mr. Goldie:
RE RAINBOW RAHCE.
Your letter of September 25th was received, and it is
surely a good thing to know that the output is going to be somewhat larger than you had anticipated.
With regard to shipments to Peters, I have talked with
him and he is very bitter against our Vernon Fruit Union. In
case you are coming on this winter, I think you should have a talk
with him, because he no doubt voices the opinion of the Toronto
Commission Merchants. I have also talked with Simpson's Manager
and they will not make a firm offer for two carloads. We will
therefore have to let it go again for this year*
About the bank, I think we should pay off all of our
indebtedness that we can, without embarrassing ourselves, but we
can no doubt arrange for them to carry all we require. I would
be quite willing to deal with any other bank which will give us better
terms, but the individual guarantee of each and all of us for the
entire indebtedness would be a sticking point with me. I will
talk with you about this further however when I see you.
Meantime I must congratulate you on the way matters are
showing up this year, and hope the final conclusion will not give us
any setback.
With best wishes,
Yours very truly,
jem/t
