Photographs formed part of an album entitled "MacMillan and Bloedel Limited Logging and Mill, 1940-1950's." Picture caption: Fallers Johnny Grimard and Eric Oscarson knock down a diseases Douglas fir in a Sproat Division block being cleaned of over-mature diseased, and windfall trees. Note the 2 types of blazes being used to show fallers which trees are to come down. A conventional axe cut is shown surrounded by a painted ring. Either blaze is used. Harmac News. 1953. October.
