Notes |
Caption on back: "The log transfer at Nitinat in MacMillan and Bloedel's Frankliln river Division, lifts and swings the entire truck load of logs to the rail car. Truck logging was started in this division in 1946 and has gradually increased in scope, but until now, all logs had to be transferred to rail for the haul to the dump on the Alberni Canal. When the conversion from rail to truck logging is complete this fall, the old rail grade will be rebuilt as a truck road, and the logs will be taken directly to the new log dump at Coleman Creek by truck.
