The narrative was composed by Alf Plant for MacMillan, Bloedel and Powell River Limited in 1961. Mary Roberta Wood was the author of the narrative history of the Barclay Sound Cedar Company, founded in 1904, the predecessor of the Alberni Pacific Lumber Co. (1936) and Alberni Pacific Lumber mill (1951), which became the Alberni Pacific Division of MacMillan Bloedel. See BC_1930_588.
