Caption on back: "Logging can be easy or tough, depending on weather conditions. As compared to British Columbia logging conditions, woods work would be considered ideal. Except for isolated spots, the Bend country is level. Occasional winter storms can slow down the fallers, but logging is planned ahead for winter and summer conditions and seldom does the mill shut down." Photographs come from a file relating to the Brooks Scanlon Lumber Company (this company invested in the Powell River Paper company) operations in the United States.
