The history was composed in 1951 by Mary Roberta Wood, daughter of James Beattie Wood. The company was the predecessor of the Alberni Pacific Lumber Co. (1936) and Alberni Pacific Lumber mill (1951). The original owners were Robert Hamilton Wood (18581940), Norman McLeod Wood (1866-1939), Alexander Bruce Wood (1864-1939), James Beattie Wood (1872-1948), and Samuel George Roseborough (18621935).
