Notes |
Caption on back: "During the recent very cold spell on the Canadian Pacific coast, frozen snow stuck to the trunks and branches of trees in the MacMillan Bloedel logging divisions, creating a safety hazard which prevented falling. In efforts to resume logging, even on a small scale, the Company used helicopters to dislodge the snow with the strong downdraught from the blades. Hovering over the trees, the helicopters had some success at a number of MB logging divisions on Vancouver Island. This photograph was taken at Cameron Division, near Port Alberni." Photograph comes from a file relating to the opening of the Cameron Division (in 1965) of the MacMillan, Bloedel and Powell River Limited.
