Inscription: "Pioneer Steamer, now lying on the rocks in the Narrows, Burrard Inlet, B.C., the first to ply on / the Pacific waters. Sailed from the Thames and rounded the Horn in 1835. The vessel was wrecked on July 26, 1888 and remained in place until 1892 when it was sunk due to the swell from another steamer, Yosemite. (Source: History of the SS.
