Notes |
The College of Preceptors was established in 1846 in Brighton, England to standardize the quality of teaching standards and initially founded as the 'Society of Teachers.' Its designation was changed to the 'College of Preceptors' in 1849 when it was incorporated by the Royal Charter. The college issued exams and standards for secondary school teachers and students.
