Thanks Mrs. Nash for going through the second batch of Sir E. T. Cook's "life". Reports obtaining permission to use Royal Archive materials, although he expects that most letters were passed on to the Cabinet. Refers to Cook's decision to leave undeveloped the Nurse Salisbury affair, and reports the lack of letters from Florence Nightingale to Sidney Herbert.
