Moonlight and broken overcast; "Although an effort was made during the last week of October, no observations of spawning mountain whitefish could be found shore spawning in the West Arm of Kootenay Lake"; "It would seem that in all observations made that the Mountain Whitefish is a nocturnal spawner. Very few, if any, may be observed directly on the spawning bed till darkness is setting in."
