These two fish key out to S. alpinus according to McPhail & Lindsey. However they have larger mouths and the colouration is markedly different.;Body colouration was uniformly olive green spots were distinctly orange cf. pink of the silver-blue S. alpinus pectorals & pelvics with distinct white bands along edge. Wt: Forklength: Standard length: Sex: Taken by:; 222.3 gm, 28.4 cm, 25.2 cm, (male symbol), 20' seine, Testes very large; 157.7 gm, 25.9 cm, 23.0 cm, (male symbol), 10' seine, gonads as above; from R.
