UBC Institute of Fisheries Field Record B.C. 81-50b

Description

[continued from B.C. 81-50a] was done in water less than 9 fathoms. The substrate was all mud and silt deposited from the Esquibo [Essequibo], Orinoco, Demerara, & Berbice Rivers primarily. The bottom was very homogeneous over the sample area. The water colour varied from muddy brown to murky green and colour changed with wind and tidal shifts. For further details of the sampling, fish communities, and environment refer to the consultant's report "Rainy Season Bycatch of the Guyanese Prawn Fishery" prepared for the International Development Research Centre and on file with the museum.
