UBC Institute of Fisheries Field Record B.C. 81-50a
Description
All specimens were taken as bycatch from the above shrimp trawls. Operated during daylight hours between 07:00 - 19:00 hrs. Trawls were pulled by a 65' Gulf of Mexico shrimp boat with a 365 HP. D343 Cat. engine. Because of the fish density individual drags ran 15 min. to no more than 1 hour. Most fish were captured on or near the bottom, although some were taken as the nets ascended or decended [descended]. The specimens are primarily representitive [representative] of an onshore community which was limited to depths of 11 fathoms or less although no sampling [continued on B.C. 81-50b]
