Description

Emma Crosby, Fort Simpson, B.C., to Eliza Douse [Mother]. Describes how she and Thomas are sharing the school duties now that the teacher has left, and expresses her desire for a good teacher, preferring a woman. Mentions that a third girl is now living with them. Discusses progress on the church, and the appreciation the people express for music and singing, having recently raised the funds for a harmonium for the church. Requests that her father settle some bills that she has enclosed, including Thomas' life insurance policy. The letter continues November 9th, extensively discussing Jessie and parenting issues.
