"And Who Besides Laura Secord?" Todd, Barbara J., 1940-
Description
Recording of historian Barbara Todd delivering an address for the Alma Mater Society's women's studies program.
Invisible in standard histories, everyday women's work made Canada possible. Identifying the feats and defeats of these women is one way to achieve dignity for modern Canadian women. This lecture by Barbara Todd will discuss the creativity and endurance of women's everyday existence, to which male-oriented histories are blind; tell stories of women whose names are unknown or almost forgotten, and attempt to contribute something of pride to ourselves and our mothers.
