CANADIAN AND UNITED STATES
CUSTOMS REQUIREMENTS
If the automobile is to remain in Canada less than sixty days
(ninety days in the United States), touring permit is obtainable
from Customs Officer at port of entry allowing the car to be run
for sixty days (ninety days in ]the United States) without securing Customs bond or depositing duty.
If more than sixty day stay is planned in Canada an extension
of a further period, not exceeding thirty days, may be obtained,
without bond or deposit, upon application to Customs Department.
In order to bring the car back into Canada duty free on return
journey, it must be registered with Customs Officer at port of
exit when leaving Canada.
Residents of United Sttaes, owners of automobiles of American manufacture, are not required to report to United States
Customs at port of exit, and on return journey to United States,
State registration card will be accepted as establishing American
origin and ownership of such automobile.
