Vancouver, British Columbia and on behalf of the Underwriters concerned in Co P. Rail
Charterers1 Liability Policy, attended WITHOUT PREJUDICE the TRAILER "IDEAL FUEL COMPANY
107" at the C. Pc Rail Cardero Street Lot, Vancouver, B.C. on the 17th February 1972, to
ascertain the nature and extent of the damage alleged to have been sustained to the trailer
while loaded on the HAIDA TRANSPORTER in consequence of the vessel experiencing heavy
weather on the 16th February 1972 while on a passage from Swartz Bay to Vancouver, B, C.
For further particulars please refer to a Report prepared by
the Master of the HAIDA TRANSPORTER dated February 16, 1972.
It was stated that on this occasion when the HAIDA TRANSPORTER
had cleared Gossips Reef buoy, North bound, it was found that the wind was blowing from the
Northwest at 35 to 40 knots along with a rough sea0 A course was therefore steered along
the Vancouver Island coast to keep the vessel in the lee of the land.  Course was again
altered to Starboard off Thrasher Rock to bring the vessel on to course , to bring her
to Point Gray buoy with the wind on the Port quarter*, While changing course, the vessel
was rolling heavily in the trough of the seas for several minutes and as a result of
which several of the trailers on board sustained damage; one of which was the nIDEAL FUEL
COMPANY 107".
The following is a list of the damage found on this trailer
and the recommendations made for repairs::

1. Outer bottom rails twisted in way of       To be faired in place,

in way of landing gear attachments, one renewed.

The foregoing repairs were effected by Regent Trailers Limited,
Burnaby, B.   C.   at  a cost  approved in the sum of  $  558.62.
It  is  considered that the  damage described  in this Report may
be properly attributed to the cause alleged by the Owners  as referred to in the preamble.

attended the Johnston Terminals Limited1s trailer No. 8676 at the plant of Canadian Trail-
mobile Limited, Vancouver, B. C. on the 21st February 1972 to ascertain the nature and extent of the damage alleged to have been sustained in consequence of the HAIDA TRANSPORTER,
on which the trailer was loaded, experiencing heavy weather on the 16th February 1972 while
on a passage from Swartz Bay to Vancouver, B. Co
For further particulars, please refer to a damage report prepared
by the Master of the HAIDA TRANSPORTER dated February 16, 1972,
It was stated that on this occasion the HAIDA TRANSPORTER* after
clearing Gossip Reef Buoy, experienced winds of about 35 to 40 m.p.h. from the Northwest
accompanied by rough sea. The Master put the vessel on course along the Vancouver Island
coast in order to keep her in the lee of the land.  The course was altered to Starboard
off Thrasher Rock to bring her on a course to Point Grey Buoy with the wind on the Port
quarter. As a result of this change of course, the vessel was rolling heavily in the
trough for several minutes with resultant damage to some of the trailers on board. One of
the damaged trailers was the JOHNSTON TRAILER NO. 8676.
The following is a list of the damage found on the Johnston
Terminals Limited1s trailer no0 8676 and the recommendations made for repairsr-
FOUND
1. Roof roll heavily buckled at forward
end, right side.
2. Top rail set in and buckled at forward end, right side.
3. Two right-side aluminum panels set
in and buckled and one sheet plywood lining in way fractured.
4. Two, side posts set in.
5. One landing leg , diagonal brace and
cross brace buckled.
RECOMMENDED
Roof roll to be renewed.
To be cropped and renewed over a length
of about 8,0M.
To be renewed.
To be straightened when panels removed.
To be renewed including fastenings.

Johnston Terminal Limited's TRAILER NO. 2337 at the plant of Canadian Trailmobile Limited,
Vancouver, B. C. on the 21st February 1972, to ascertain the nature and extent of the damage
alleged to have been sustained to the trailer aboard the HAIDA TRANSPORTER in consequence
of heavy weather experienced on the 16th February 1972 while the HAIDA TRANSPORTER was on
a passage from Swartz Bay, B. C. to Vancouver, B. C.
For further particulars please refer to a Report prepared by the
Master of the HAIDA TRANSPORTER dated February 16, 1972.
It was stated that on this occasion the HAIDA TRANSPORTER, after
clearing Gossip Reef Buoy, experienced winds of about 35 to 40 m.p.h. from the Northwest
accompanied by rough sea. The Master put the vessel on course along the Vancouver Island
coast in order to keep her in the lee of the land.  The course was altered to Starboard
off Thrasher Rock to bring her on a course to Point Grey Buoy with the wind on the Port
quarter. As a result of this change of course, the vessel was rolling heavily in the
trough for several minutes with resultant damage to some of the trailers on board.  One of
the damaged trailers was the JOHNSTON TERMINAL LIMITED'S TRAILER NO. 2337.
The following is a list of the damage found on the TRAILER 2337
and the recommendation made for repairs:
FOUND
1, Two front corner rolls and top header
set in and buckled.
2. Left rear panel heavily set in.
RECOMMENDED
To be renewed.
To be renewed.
ALSO RECOMMENDED:
3.   Necessary removals for access to repairs to be effected and afterwards replaced.

dock, was it moved by Railway power or shippers power?
5 Was car placed under load and reloaded by shippers
without prior Railway inspection and approval?
6   Was shipment (unloaded)(loaded) on (consignee)
(shippers) Private Siding or on Railway Team Track?
7 Was shipment (checked in) (checked out) by Railway
Checker?
8   Attach copy of delivery receipt showing all exceptions
made by consignee, date of delivery and receiver's signature.
What notations did consignee make on delivery receipt?
'0 Advise all exceptions noted at time of transfer.

(a) Sell for highest offer, forwarding me copy of form 3200A with full details of where your Special Debit will appear.
(b) Forward to my address free showing my claim number on the outside of package and on your waybill for free
movement and forward me copy of waybill.
(c) If you are satisfied salvage has no commercial value, place in company's scrapcar or destroy, advising when done.
15 Return all papers through your Freight Claim Agent for OS&D or Inspection report and salvage particulars, letting me
have a copy of your transmittal letter.
16 Papers attached, please authorize for $ with return of the complete file.
