Rail diesel cars may exceed authorized passenger train speeds by ten miles per hour on straight track. All other speed restrictions
must be observed.
Except when weather or other conditions prevent proper running inspection, Special Instructions "C" is amended to read forty-five
miles instead of forty miles on this subdivision.
Fixed signals connected to slide detector fences at mileage 104.3 and mileage 104.9 are located at mileage 103.8 governing westward trains and mileage 105.3 governing eastward trains and display indications as follows:
1. Green Light—slide fence normal. Trains may proceed.
2. Red Light—slide fence tripped. Trains may proceed through the slide area prepared to stop short of obstruction on the track.
These signals do not indicate whether track occupied, rail broken or other obstruction.
Yard limit sign Yahk situated on east side Kingsgate Subdivision governs trains on Nelson Subdivision.
Troup and Yahk are register stations for trains originating and terminating only.
Retaining valves must be used on 33 percent of the cars on freight trains descending grade Goatfeil to Lipsett and standing
inspection must be made at McConnel and Sirdar if the tonnage is in excess of "A" rating for the ascending grade for the
diesel units on which the dynamic brake is in effective operating condition, unless the train is controlled with a pressure
maintaining brake valve. Otherwise rules 34(a) form 582 and 27 form 583 apply.
Freight trains meeting passenger trains at Sirdar will cut crossing just west of station on arrival.

DRS-24 units on passenger trains, except DRS-24f class; must not, subject to more restrictive instructions, exceed
freight train speed on curves.
C—In addition to the strict observance of Rule 111, freight and mixed trains will not, unless otherwise provided,
run more than forty miles without stopping for standing train inspection.
D—In territory where C.T.C. Rules are effective, trains must not clear the main track at non-electrically locked
hand operated switches at the locations listed in the Subdivision footnotes of timetable. When switching movements
are made through such switches the switch must be left open until switching completed and movement has returned
to the main track.
F—"Rule 5" AT TERMINATING STATIONS, unless otherwise specified by Train Order or other special instructions, arriving time of all trains, except first class trains, applies at the first main track switch where trains can
enter a Siding or Yard Tracks. If no such switch, it applies at the station. Trains may be yarded or final stop made
on main track at or before arriving time shown in Timetable. AT INITIAL STATIONS, unless otherwise specified by
train order or other special instructions, leaving time of all trains, except first class trains, applies at the last main
track switch where trains can leave Siding or Yard Tracks.
G—Trains occupying timed circuits approaching interlockings for periods in excess of that specified in Subdivision
Timetable footnotes must proceed prepared to find interlocking signal displaying "STOP" indication.
