SEPTEMBER 21 Takakkqw Falls
The wild and lovely mountain scenery visible from your
windows on the transcontinental mainline of the Canadiai
Pacific through the Canadian Rockies is only a foretaste
of the beauty that lies In wait in the near hinterland.
Every pass, every valley, is an avenue of grandeur.
Magnificent snow fields, steel-cold glaciers, and glacial
streams feed mountain torrents that cascade down
sheer rock cliffs from dizzy heights, eventually to form
great rivers that hiss and tumble m a headlong journey
to the sea.
Takakkaw Falls, high spot of the Yoho Valley, an hour's
ride by Government maintained motor road from
Field, B.C., faces Yoho Valley Lodge, a favourite holiday
spot. Yoho National Park, by which Falls and Lodge are
encompassed, is a game res-s ! wild life
is unafraid, and where Alpine flowers, finr *essive
Springs at successive altitudes, delight the hiker.
