EMPRESS HOTEL
VICTORIA BRITISH COLUMBIA
In Canadas Evergreen Playground
Ivy-clad walls in an English flower garden—a view of the beautiful lawns of
the Provincial Parliament and the inner harbor—an atmosphere of charm
and hospitality warmed by sunlight, softened by balmy breezes—such is the
celebrated Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia, on the southern tip of
Vancouver Island.
The Empress has many attractions including . . . 570 commodious guest
rooms, the majority with bath; Crystal Ball Room, public and private dining-
rooms, and ample facilities for conventions. On the walls of the main dining-
room hang oil paintings of the consorts of many of Canada's Governors-General.
Among the unique features are: the Conservatory, with a fountain playing amid
masses of flowers; and the nearby Crystal Garden, with its warmed sea-water
pool and palm-bordered promenades.
Play golf and other summer sports the year round. The Empress Golf
Tournament is usually held in March for the Sir Edward Beatty Challenge
Cup. Visit points of inspiring beauty, like the scenic Malahat district that
combines coast-line and mountains in a pageant of rare magnificence. Fish for
the lordly salmon and other fighters.
Plan to stay at the Empress Hotel! A cordial welcome awaits you . . . whether
you come during the spring, summer or autumn seasons ... for the Old
English Yuletide Festivities over Christmas-New Year . . . or to spend the
winter in the delightful climate of Canada's Evergreen Playground.
The Empress is a Canadian Pacific hotel—one of the chain of fourteen
hotels from the Atlantic to the Pacific owned and operated by the
World's Greatest Travel System. For information, reservations, etc.,
apply to the manager or your nearest Canadian Pacific representative. The sleeping-car conductor will be pleased to wire ahead, without
charge, to any of the Company's hotels for your reservations. » » »
