——— Banff
In Rocky Mountain Park
Banff, administrative headquarters of Rocky Mountains Park, can be
said to be one of the ''scenic best sellers" of America. No part of the Rockies
exhibits a greater variety of sublime and romantic scenery, and nowhere else
are good points of view and features of special interest so accessible. Rocky
Mountains Park has an area of 2751 square miles, its greatest length being
about one hundred miles.
The town lies embowered in pine forests and lawns, in a pocket of a wide
circle of pearly-grey limestone peaks. Warmed by clear sunshine, kissed by
clear air, exhilarated by the glacial-green Bow River that frisks through its
middle, Banff bids all welcome.
Mountain climbing, hot springs, swimming, golf, tennis, boating, hiking,
riding; motoring and fishing are some of the attractions that have made Banff
so popular a vacation resort. Banff Springs Hotel—a Canadian Pacific hotel—
is the social centre for the large summer population.
