, ::JIU. Bm Provision of facilities which will permit the loading of
trailers and city delivery tracks from between piers B
and C to reduce the number trucks requiring inside shed
delivery.
It is considered that portable loading ramps could be provided
to allow trucks and trailers to load or unload freight without entering
the pier shed. Also, since the ramp leading into piers B and 0 from
the north end of the rail track area is no longer required for handling
automobiles in coastal ferry service, it could be removed entirely.
This would make it possible to have a permanent platform, accessible
from either pier, which will accomodate at least four trucks or trailers
at one time.
C. Provision of a temporary supervisory organization to improve
management control over the various shed activities in order
to obtain the best possible utilization of the shed space on
Piers B and C, especially during periods of high traffic
volumes; and to allocate manpower in accordance with existing
workloads in any given area* m
