Canned Fish in Store at Vancouver Wharf
Referring to your letter April 20th, in-
connection with check of the above.
With regard to Lot 3243 you state: "Report
to Geo.Jefferies Sept.28/43, file C-78802". Will you please
say what action Agent has taken since that time to have this
shortage cleared up.
Regarding other shortages shown on your
report I presume you will keep in touch with Agent to see
that the various shortage will be adjusted.
In connection with your remarks regarding
the practice to yjpermit "&e consignees when labelling and
culling to take cases from otliarlots to fill up without first
giving a delivery order. I 'can see no reason why this
practice should not be continued within reason, however, Agents
should obtain a delivery order as soon as possible, and not wait
until shipment is completed or a check made before taking up.
It would be as well to point this out to the Agent.

Auditor of Agencies,
Montreal, Que.,
Dear Sir;-
I am enclosing correction to my report No. 2053 Aug/' 29 th*
covering three lots of salmon Hos. 2864-5-6 reported as being received
in Pier *GH but which were actually discharged at an out-tide dock
(Canadian National Steamships)*
Will you please arrange to cancel these three lot numbers
frdm your salmon book. Ihen it was discovered that this salmon was not
discharged by the ship at our own dock our salmon clerk was advised,
but unfortunately he had given these lota numbers to the salmon as being
discharged at our own wharf, and although he made a note to cancel the
lot numbers he overlooked same*
I have taken the necessary action to prevent this
happening again. *

Dear  Sir;
Attention Mr* Timms
On Aug. 29th. the Maquinna gave us waybill 570 ex Port Aliae
for 69 cases _K__c_t____i salmon marked G; 1100 marked C and 76 marked T
consigned _?rancis Millerd.
When "the waybill was left with our foreman we wua advised
ail this salmon would be put off at Pier C. The waybill was sent to the
office and a lot number was given to each item Hos. 2864-5-6 and we were
not advised by your deparemtn that this salmon was discharged at the
Ga2?.Dock consequently ..hen Travelling Auditor made check of the salmon
last week we showed these three lots numbers as being on hand but he
could not find them on Pier C*
It is of the utmost im portance we be properly advised wfaeis
salmon is to be discharged, and if any plans are changed by _3__c& your
department-after once turning the .aybill over to the foreman we must
be advised, ffe are being very severely critized by Montreal for
allowing these entries to go through our salmon book when we did not
receive the salmon.
Yours truly.

Please refer to the attached received
report #1981 dated Nov* 30th*, also delivery order issued
report #3981 of Dec* 5th*, and corrected received report #1981
of Jan* 3rd*,
Perusal of these documents will indicate to you that while the
original received report showed the receipt of 2000ctns* of
48/1 Salmon under lot #2709 Canadian Wishing Go*, the subsequent
delivery order issued report as aboveyprovided for the delivery
of 1500 ctns** and indicated the balance as Nil* /
On bringing the disorepanoie of 500 otns,, to the attention of „
Mr* Willoughby covered by my file as above dated Deo* 27th*, he
furnished a corrected received report (without explanation) as
above, providing for the receipt of only 1500 ctns., under this

of received reports, or in the proper check of receipts, I will
appreciate your making % thorough check in this connection,
advising fully on the completion thereof, at the same time
returning the enclosures*
