beyond praise, the one perfectly cooked and both expertly served.

!
They are known as " The White Empresses of the
Atlantic "—the magnificent Empress of Scotland,
flagship of the Canadian Pacific fleet, and Empress
of France. Between them they have established
the Canadian Pacific reputation for tranquil
comfort and good living.
This plan shows the accommodation in the
Empress of France : a Clyde-built 20,400-ton
liner. She carries 700 passengers in two classes,
First and Tourist : First-class accommodation
is on Decks A to D, Tourist on Decks B to D.
The First-class public rooms consist of the
Lounge, Cocktail Room, Library, Children's Room
and Dining Room ; all except the last-named are
on the Promenade Deck. The Empress Room is
the ship's ballroom and cinema. The Entrance
Hall is the place for busy passengers or for those
in a buying mood : for there are to be found the
Purser's Bureau, Rail Ticket Representative's office,
public telephone, mail box, cash office and most
inviting—The Shop.
The summer route of the Empresses is famous
for its extreme beauty : between the mouth of
the St. Lawrence and Montreal, nine hundred miles
up-river, some of the loveliest scenery in the world
lies on either bank of the river. In-coming and
out-going, the Empresses call at Quebec, and when
the St. Lawrence is closed to navigation they dock
at Saint John, New Brunswick.
To travel by one of the Empresses is to travel
in a ship run expressly for you, your pleasure and
enjoyment : willing friendly service, perfect comfort, superb cuisine, all combine to make your
journey a holiday.
