This is the first of four bookplates belonging to C. Gordonsmith in this collection. The owner in this bookplate is presumably the C. Gordonsmith of Montreal that acquired a large personal library. These books were later auctioned, and C.Gordonsmith’s bookplates are now found in books dispersed in various collections. The date for this entry was chosen by the latest reference to the library catalogue of C. Gordonsmith.
