Notes |
The identity of C.A. Walkinshaw is unknown but it is possible that this bookplate belonged to the first forest ranger stationed in Turtle Mountain, Manitoba. Forest ranger C.A. Walkinshaw lived in Boissevain, MB, and worked in the timber reserve planting trees, managing the timber, building roads and trails, communicating with local residents, and monitoring and putting out forest fires. Reports from C.A. Walkinshaw can be found in the annual reports of the Superintendent of Forestry in the early part of the 20th century.
