Notes |
Earl Spencer Seeli Armitage-Stanley (or Seeli-Armitage-Stanley) Esq. was the son of Alfaretta Evalina Armitage and Alexander Seeli, and the grandson of John Robinson Armitage Esq. and Margaret Stanley. Born in Lucan, Ontario, on April 21, 1899, he was baptized at Holy Trinity Church. He received his Bachelor of Architecture in 1923 from the University of Toronto, and completed his Master of Architecture in 1931. In addition to being an architect, Seeli-Armitage-Stanley was also a local historian and genealogist. In 1943, he compiled a genealogy of the Stanley family, tracing the Ontario, Canada Stanleys to Robert Stanleigh vel Stoneleigh, who was shown to be the great-great-grandson of Richard II, King of Normandy. He also compiled a genealogy of the Armitage family in Canada. Seeli-Armitage-Stanley died on February 3, 1976.
