Canadian born Dr. David E. Bond is a respected authority on economics and business. As of 2009, Bond served as an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia in the Finance Division of the Sauder School of Business and has also taught at the University of Western Ontario. In 1998, Dr. Bond retired from his position as Chief Economist at the Hong Kong Bank of Canada and is the author and co-author of several books on economics, finance, and business, the most recent being "Bank Mergers: why we need them, how to get them" and "Future Perfect: Retirement strategies for productive people". Dr. Bond has been actively involved with cultural, educational, and professional boards: He served as President of the Vancouver Maritime Museum and was the founding president of the Friends of the Canadian Museum of Civilization. In addition, he was also a board member of the BC Wine Institute, and Canadian Vintners' Association, the Kelowna Chamber Music Society, and is an Honorary Life Member of the Board of the Art gallery of Greater Victoria. Dr. Bond was also a board member of Langara Community College and Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, and also served as chairman in the latter. Dr. Bond has been involved in the boards of the Canada West Foundation and Canadian Institute for International affairs, and also held the position of President for the Association of Professional Economists of British Columbia.
