Humphry, George Murray

Sir George Murray Humphry was a surgeon who taught human anatomy and surgery at Cambridge from 1866. He served as president of the Cambridge branch of the British Medical Association, as well as the Cambridge Medical Society, the Sanitary Society of Great Britian, the Anatomical Society, and the Pathological Society of London, ranging from 1882 to 1893. Humphry is the author of several publications, which include "A Treatise on the Human Skeleton, Including the Joints" (1858), "On the Coagulation of the Blood in the Venous System during Life" (1859), and "The Human Foot and the Human Hand" (1861). UBC Library has two items in its holdings attributed to Humphry.
