Description
In black ink. Per blazon sinister, or (gold) and argent (silver). A lion rampant, sable (black), queue fourche, grasping a scimetar, azure (blue). A tower turreted, with banners sinister on either side, azure. Upon a straight crest wreath is a demi-lion, sable with queue fourche, grasping a scimetar, azure. Below the escutcheon is a banner containing the French motto.

Likely, Loren Griswold Du Bois of Boston, Massachusetts. He was born on October 18, 1853 and died in 1919? He was the son of Gilman Bradford Du Bois and Ellen L. Griswold. He was a graduate of Harvard University, as well as, a lawyer and a collector of first editions and illuminated manuscripts.
