Description
In black ink. This bookplate consists of escutcheon, or (gold), with a chief, azure (blue). The crest is of a dexter arm grasping a sword, vambranced to the dexter. Above the escutcheon is a banner containing the Latin motto.

This bookplate belongs to Captain James Cumming Dewar of Vogrie, author of "Voyage of the Nyanza, R. N. Y. C., being the record of a 3 years' cruise in a schooner yacht in the Atlantic and Pacific, and her subsequent shipwreck" published in 1892.
