Cariboo College, now Thompson Rivers University, was established in 1970 as a community college. In 1995, the institution became the University College of the Cariboo, and in 2004 became Thompson Rivers University. TRU has two campuses in British Columbia (Kamloops and Williams Lake) and operates out of numerous regional centres, offering undergraduate degrees, diploma programs, and certificate programs.
