Investments are stated on the balance-sheet at $5,681,164.23, representing the original cost less
amortization of premium and discount to March 31st, 1944. A summary of the securities held at
balance-sheet date is given on Schedule No. 3 herewith, in which par values, original costs, and valuation on the Dominion Department of Insurance basis or market value as at December 31st, 1943, are
also set out for information and reference.

Subject to the foregoing remarks, I certify that the above balance-sheet is in my opinion properly-
drawn up so as to exhibit a true and correct statement of the affairs of the Fund according to the best
of my information and the explanations given to me and as shown by the books of the Fund.
