REPORT OF THE BUSINESS DONE IN PURSUANCE OF THE " SUPERANNUATION ACT " DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 1937-38. Section 5.—Contributions were made by Municipal and School Board employees of $226,412.99. Section 6.—On March 31st, 1938, 704 Municipal employees and 98 School Board employees were contributing more than 4 per cent. Section 9.—There were 12 Municipal employees and 6 School Board employees making voluntary contributions pursuant to this section as at March 31st, 1938. Section 11.—Interest was credited at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum on September 30th, 1937, and March 31st, 1938, on the credit balances of the previous April 1st, 1937, and October 1st, 1937, respectively. Section 12.—A statement of all moneys received and paid out under the provisions of this Act and the assets and liabilities appertaining to the granting of superannuation allowances under its provisions is given in the Statement of Revenue and Expenditure and the Balance-sheet. Section 13.— (1.) (a.) The sum of $35,902.03 was refunded under sections 19 and 20 to employees of the Cities and Municipalities and School Boards, now operating under the provisions of the Act. Like amounts were transferred from the Cities and Municipalities Employers' Accounts and the School Boards Employers' Accounts to their separate accounts in the Special Reserve Fund. (3.) The total cash credit balance of certain City, Municipal, and School Board Special Reserve Accounts amounted to $16,425.51. The cash overdraft in certain City, Municipal, and School Board Special Reserve Accounts amounted to $1,583,707.56. Section lb.—Superannuation allowances were granted to 31 Municipal employees and 14 School Board employees. Section 19.—Four Municipal employees and 1 School Board employee died during the year and refunds were made to their legal representatives. Section 20.—Seventy-eight Municipal and 18 School Board employees, on leaving the service of their employer, secured a refund of the amount at their credit in the Superannuation Fund. Section 21.—One Municipal employee and 1 School Board employee who left the service had made voluntary contributions under section 9, and secured a refund of these special contributions.
