of the " Superannuation Act " during the fiscal year 1936-37.

REPORT OF THE BUSINESS DONE IN PURSUANCE OP THE " SUPERANNUATION
ACT " DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 1936-37.
Section 5.—Contributions were made by Municipal and School Board employees of
$207,496.21.
Section 6.—On March 31st, 1937, 678 Municipal employees and 91 School Board employees
were contributing more than 4 per cent.
Section 9.—There were 14 Municipal employees and 7 School Board employees making
voluntary contributions pursuant to this section as at March 31st, 1937.
Section 11.—Interest was credited at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum on September 30th,
1936, and March 31st, 1937, on the credit balances of the previous April 1st, 1936, and October
1st, 1936, respectively.
Section 12.—A statement of all moneys received and paid out under the provisions of this
Act and the assets and liabilities appertaining to the granting of superannuation allowances
under its provisions is given in the Statement of Revenue and Expenditure and the Balance-
sheet.
Section 13.— (1.) (a.) The sum of $26,117.45 was refunded under sections 18 and 19 to
employees of the Cities and Municipalities and School Boards, now operating under the provisions of the Act. Like amounts were transferred from the Cities and Municipalities
Employers' Accounts and the School Boards Employers' Accounts to their separate accounts
in the Special Reserve Fund.
(3.) The total cash credit balance of certain City, Municipal, and School Board Special
Reserve Accounts amounted to $13,801.39. The cash overdraft in certain City, Municipal, and
School Board Special Reserve Accounts amounted to $1,291,377.92.
Section 14-—Superannuation allowances were granted to 57 Municipal employees and 10
School Board employees.
Section 18.—Six Municipal employees and 1 School Board employee died during the year
and refunds were made to their legal representatives.
Section 19.—Seventy-two Municipal and 12 School Board employees, on leaving the service
of their employer, secured a refund of the amount at their credit in the Superannuation Fund.
Section 20.—One contributor who left the Municipal Service had made voluntary contributions under section 9, and secured a refund of these special contributions.
Section 20c.—An amount of $589.94 was paid to the Municipal employer pursuant to the
provisions of this section.
Section 20n.—An amount of $2,099.43 was received from Municipal employees who were
reappointed to the service of the same employer.
