Of the Minister of Justice upon the Statutes of the Legislative Assembly of the
Province of British Columbia passed during the Session of 1934.

Victoria, B.C., April 23rd, 1935.
Sir,—I have the honour, by direction, to enclose herewith for the information of His Honour's
Government a certified copy of Order in Council P.C. 960, dated April 12th, 1935, approving
Statutes of this Province passed in the year 1934.
A copy of the report of the Minister of Justice referred to in the Order in Council is also
enclosed.

Certified to be a True Copy of a Minute of a Meeting of the Committee of the Privy Council,
approved by the Deputy of His Excellency the Governor-General
on the 12th April, 1935.
The Committee of the Privy Council have had before them a report, dated 8th April, 1935,
from the Minister of Justice, stating that he has examined the Statutes of the Province of
British Columbia passed in the year 1934 and received by the Secretary of State of Canada on
the 21st April, 1934, and that he is of the opinion that thes'e Statutes may be left to such operation as they may have.
The Minister further states that petitions were received from certain private interests
praying for the disallowance of chapter 47, " An Act to amend and consolidate the ' Male
Minimum Wage Act' " ; chapter 48, " An Act to amend and consolidate the Act respecting a
Minimum Wage for Women " ; chapter 60, " An Act to provide for the Exercise by the Lieutenant-
Governor in Council of certain Powers during the Interim between the Sessions of the Legislature " ; and chapter 61, " An Act to amend and consolidate the Law relating to the Payment
of Succession Duty."
The Minister also states that he has carefully considered the representations submitted with
regard to each of the above-mentioned Acts, and that he is of opinion that none of the provisions
therein contained are of such a character as to give rise to any duty on the part of Your
Excellency to exercise the power of disallowance conferred upon the Governor in Council by
the " British North America Act."
The Committee concur in the foregoing and advise that a copy hereof and of the attached
report of the Minister of Justice, if approved, be transmitted to the Lieutenant-Governor of
British Columbia for the information of his Government.
All of which is respectfully submitted for approval.

To His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
The undersigned has the honour to report that he has examined the Statutes- of the Province
of British Columbia passed in the year 1934 and received by the Secretary of. State of Canada
on the 21st April, 1934, and he is of the opinion that these Statutes ma}" be left to such operation
as they may have.
Petitions were received from certain private interests praying for the disallowance of
chapter 47, " An Act to amend and consolidate the ' Male Minimum Wage Act' " ; chapter 48,
" An Act to amend and consolidate the Act respecting a Minimum Wage for Women "; chapter
60, " An Act to provide for the Exercise by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council of certain Powers
during the Interim between the Sessions of the Legislature " ; and chapter 61, " An Act to amend
and consolidate the Law relating to the Payment of Succession Duty."
