RETURN
To an Order of the House for a Return shewing at what point actual construction was
commenced on the Canadian Western Central Railway, as stated in preamble to
Bill No. 91, " An Act respecting the Canadian Western Central Railway."    What
was the nature of this work ?    And  what was  the amount of money actually
expended in this work ?

The amount of money expended was $25,500.
The plans of the survey were filed in the Registry Office on November 16th, 1894, and
comprise two sections—one, the Campbell River section, covering the distance from Station 0
to 158; the other, the Menzies Bay section, covering that from Station 0 to 105.

30th July, 1894.
This is to certify that the clearing of the right of way for the Canada Western Central
Railway was commenced on Saturday, 28th inst., on Lot 120, Say ward District, Vancouver
Island.

This is to certify that the grading for the Canada Western Central Railway was commenced this morning on Lot 130, Say ward District, Vancouver Island, and at Station 46 of
the main line of said radway.
